Wil Deft eBook Richard Wolkomir
This is a wonderful tale! Intriguing. Imaginative. Complex. I'm delighted to find in Richard Wolkomir a very talented and masterful writer and teller of dramatic tales. I think people will find this little-known story to be as satisfying and intricate a drama of good and evil as the classics (The Hobbit comes to mind.) I loved Wolkomir's portrayal of the dog Tobi. I could hear Tobi saying, "Timmy's in the well but I'm really hungry, Will. We can eat something and take a nap together, can't we?" All so very well done, Richard.Tags : Wil Deft - Kindle edition by Richard Wolkomir. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Wil Deft eBook Richard Wolkomir Reviews
Although generally not a fan of this genre, I thoroughly enjoyed Wil Deft. Wolkimer's characters are memorable, especially Tobi, the corgi, who epitomizes all loyal dog characteristics. Lal, the cat, was true to her kind as well. A promise made, and kept; right versus wrong; good and bad - are themes throughout. Lovers of dogs and fantasy will enjoy this!
Wil Deft's world is ruled by an oppressive imperial monarchy opposed by the "Foresters" who live in a tree-top city and wield magic. The foresters can talk telepathically with animals. The author has totally nailed the corgi personality - totally driven by his desire for connection with his person. Interesting examination of fear versus reality, ("all is woven from thought and thought can be changed"). Themes of freedom versus slavery. Its a fun and interesting page-turner.
Started this book because of reviews. Others may claim how great it was. Every chapter I want to close the book. It’s an ok book with an interesting ending. I will give it a thumbs up
